Skirt made of men's ties.

This is my daughter Jana, she had found a photo of models wearing a skirt made of men's ties and asked if I could help her make one.  We both collected ties from used clothing stores, family and friends.  We selected our color schemes.  Jana: brown and blues  Barbie(me): maroon and blues

We decided we would make these skirts and were them on Christmas Eve 2012 at our family Kris Kringle party.  We did and the family really like our skirts.

First we washed the ties.  We then opened up the backs and removed the lining.  We then sewed the ties together at the front seams.  We sewed the backs closed, all but one.  This one was left open to insert a zipper at the top.  Measure your skirt length, cut, add waist binding, add zipper, then finish off skirt.
